The Truth is Out There!

Last Saturday night I was out near a place called Contos with Neal, Kirk and Christian.   We got a few sunset shots but it was a pretty bland sunset despite promising to be anything but.    Anyhow the real reason why we were there was to drink lots of beer…………………………….  I mean to experiment with some night photography.   It was an awesome night and I certainly got some really interesting photos out of it as well as getting really fit running around the rocks firing off the flash.      Its certainly something I’d like to do again.

    Hi Mel,

Thanks very much for that, it was stacks of fun and we all learnt something so it was really productive as well. I’m definitely keen to pursue some more of this sort of photography in the future.

    Hi Christian,

That is the sun shining out of my ass, no flash involved. 😉 hehe.

dammit you people make me so jealous when you go out shooting in mobs… Where am i? No night of photography is complete without an annoying teen complaining about beer breath and preventing you drunkards from falling in the ocean.

Oh yeah great shot. i can never get stars right.

    Hi Sean,

Thanks for the compliment. I’m sure we’ll all get to shoot together soon. We’ll have to line up another group shoot somewhere if there is enough interest.

  10. spoolphotography October 21, 2008 at 2:00 pm #

Live view Stephen, that beast of a camera jamie has has the a nice live view where you can dial in the exposure and then zoom in on a mouse *hole at 200 yards. Gotta get me a live view one day.

Very nice shot Jamie. Contos is a great little spot. Great little surf spot and beach. The mozzies are killer though once the sun goes down.

Clint…. Your Nikon D300 does have live view. I have the same camera and use it from time to time. It really comes in handy for macro shots.

That’s sharp alright . I must try the live view on my 40d I’ve never even had a look at it.

The one I’ve posted on my blog is nowhere near it.
Jamie have a look it’s taken on the CSR.

( Cheap attempt to get a couple of hits there!!!)

    Hi Merv,

I never used it until Neal and Christian asked me how to use it. I learnt how to use it and its revolutionised the way I shoot things. No problems about the free plug. hehe. We are all guilty of it. 🙂
