Crystal Clear Waters

seascape photography, beach, landscape photography, australian photographer

When I first saw this bay I fell in love with it straight away.  I just couldn’t get enough of that amazing clear water.  How beautiful does it look from up on the hill?

Unfortunately, on this particular day I was really pressed for time so I didn’t get a chance to dive right in, but if I get the chance to I will next time for sure.

This one was of those rare occasions where I actually used a polarizer and looking back on it I’m glad I did.    Now…. onto the next image!

Thanks,

Broome Fireworks

landscape photography, broome, seascape photography, australian photographer

I wish I was here right now!   Nice and warm with a nice cold beverage of some description in my hand.   When I took this photo it was a nice 28 degrees with not much humidity.

I must head back up to Broome again soon.   I wonder what sort of sunsets it gets during summer.

To get this shot I used the 17mm TSE lens which is just pure magic and I blended a couple of photos together in Photoshop using some photos that had been taken at two different exposures.  One for the sky and one for the foreground.  I think it worked do you?

Thanks,

Magic Day

Its a great to be alive.  Any day we are alive is a great day!

Wow.  I’ve had the most amazing past couple of days.  I headed down to Balingup to capture some of the countryside and then spent the day driving across to Nannup, stopping every couple of minutes to take some shots and soak up the views.   I also made it across to Hamelin Bay, Margaret River and stayed in Dunborough as well.  Its been heaps of fun.   Today I started making my way home and I decided that I would stop off at as many beaches as possible as I’ve never done that.

This is Myalup Beach and it was a really cool little beach.  Nice waves crashing onto the shore line with fantastic weather.   Its been ages since my last photography roadtrip and it certainly reminded me of how much fun they are.

Roadtrip anyone?

Thanks,

Injidup Beach Rocks

injidup, injidup pt, injidup beach, australian landscape photography, landscape photography

Finally!  I made it back to my beloved Injidup Beach, my first trip I think in almost five months.  I must admit I really didn’t use the camera too much, I just strolled up and down the beach and soaked up the atmosphere, and as always it was totally relaxing.

The great thing about Inji is that its always changing.   This time because its the end of summer and because it was a full moon the tide was right out and there was lots of sand covering the normally really big rocks.   Usually these rocks that I’m standing on are being smashed by really big waves and you’d never get a chance to stand on them without being swamped or being swept away.   I love this look but personally I can’t wait until the sand is swept away and we get the big seas thumping against the rocks again.

Did Perth get any clouds this weekend at all?

Thanks,

Jamie Paterson

Hawaiian Playground

hawaii, australian landscape photography, beach

Hi Everyone,

The colours at this beach in Hawaii totally captivated me.  I just loved the greens and blues and it screamed Hawaii to me.    This beach was a couple of beaches back from Ke’e Beach so it wasn’t as popular but it was a much better beach.  Let’s face it, if you couldn’t see the Na Pali Coast from Ke’e I don’t think it would be as popular as it is.

Two kids were drying to dig a channel from the river to the ocean and after about 45mins of digging they actually managed to achieve it.  They did get managed to get thumped by a couple of large waves in the process though!   I’ll definitely have to take the family back there again soon.

Thanks,

Jamie Paterson

Aussie Way Of Life

beach, coogee beach, australian landscape photography, australian photographers

Hi Everyone,

The other day I was walking down the beach and saw how busy it was and I decided to fire off a few shots, as this looked like a typical Aussie day to me.  Hot summer days with lots of people playing in the water just smacks of Australia to me.

If I didn’t have my gear with me I certainly would’ve jumped in the water myself as well.

Mr Fletcher At Boranup Beach

Ok Everyone,

Let’s see how good your Fletcherology is.  Which Fletcher is this?   Obviously only one of them will say its the good looking one. :-)

Again you can see just how beautiful Boranup Beach was on the day.  It was simply amazing.

Boranup Beach

Hi Everyone,

Well its that time of year and I hope that you and all your families have a fantastic Christmas and a great New Year.  I have a feeling that 2011 is going to be a big one.

This photo was taken at Boranup Beach and I think that out of all the locations we saw on Tuesday this was the most stunning.   I’ve driven along the beach quite a few times and never seen it like this at all.   That channel of water running across the beach was simply the icing on the cake for me.

If you look closely you can see Mark snapping off a couple of shots of this place.

Be safe everyone!

Trigg Beach

Trigg Beach, australian landscape photography

Hello Everyone,

Can you believe that Christmas is almost here?  Its such a cliche thing to say but I can’t believe a whole year has just flown past yet again!  Its exciting to find out what 2011 has in store for us.

Recently I headed down to Trigg Beach to capture a sunset as it had been a really hot and humid day and there were plenty of clouds about as well, which normally makes for a spectacular sunset and I certainly wasn’t disappointed on this occasion.

The moment I got to the beach I just knew that we were going to be in for a treat.   The sun was already throwing up some awesome colours an hour before the sun went down, so I just started shooting away and having a blast.   Don’t you just love it when you’re having fun and all your photos just seem to fall into place?

Have a great week!

Thanks,

Jamie Paterson

Cottesloe Beach

Cottesloe Beach, Cott, australian landscape photography, seascape photography, fine art landscape photography

Hi Crew,

I hope you’ve all had a great weekend.   Have I jumped on the black and white bandwagon with this shot?  Certainly not!   I see things in colour and in the past have converted the odd photo to black and white when the composition and light was good but the colour wasn’t.

In this case though I always saw this Cottesloe Beach shot in black and white for some reason, perhaps its because of Brett Morgan’s latest photos.  Either way I’m glad I saw this one in black and white as it really works.  Now should I rock Mark’s boat and do a third post for the day?  I think so.

Thanks,

Jamie Paterson
