Hey Crew,
Don’t you just love hot balmy summer nights that produce killer sunsets? I took a drive down to the Swan River a few nights ago and managed to find a parking spot, I couldn’t believe how busy it was. Tons of people had gathered down at the river to watch the sunset. Couples were cuddled up together drinking champagne, families were playing cricket in the park and firing up the BBQ, tourists were just watching the sun and contemplating their next stop and then there was this landscape photographer on a mission. I just love the fact that people get out and about and bond on nights like this one. If I had the courage I’d love to spend one evening just photographing these people as they enjoy the hot evening.
My 10yr old niece dragged me to this spot a few weeks ago and it struck me as a pretty cool spot to get a photo of Perth. So the location find has to be credited to my amazing niece Chloe and I dedicate this photo to her.
I’m guessing by now most of you guys will be firming up plans to head out and grab some great photos this weekend. Is anyone heading outside of the metro area? I’m heading up to Yanchep Lagoon this weekend to jump into the water and try and get some photos. These half in the water and half out of the water shots are harder than they look.
Take Care Everyone,
Jamie Paterson

Nice one Jamie!
Remember the tip from Glenn Cowans which is to lick the glass to stop the water droplets.
He reckons that works better than any Rainex etc.
Cheers,
Mark
Hey Mark!,
Thanks for that mate. 🙂 A tip I got from another professional underwater photographer was to pack heaps of liquid soap on there about an hour before hoping in the water, then washing it off. It worked a treat last weekend. You off to Rotto this weekend?

Jamie, good one. Did you flash the rock (so to speak), or was that ambient light? Love the colours… Good luck with your wave shots, I am jealous.
Hi Simon,
Thanks for the comment mate. No the light on the rock is ambient light, definitely no flash.
