North Cottesloe Rock Pool

north cottesloe, australian seascape photography, seascape photography, australian landscape photography, sunsets,

Hi Everyone,

Last week I headed down to North Cottesloe as I just knew that the sunset was going to go off.  I’m glad I did as the colours were just awesome, a nice orange glow greeted the end of the day.   It almost felt like a mild summer day as people were just strolling up and down the beach, kids were splashing in the water and people were fishing off the rocks.   You just have to love days like this one. I was almost tempted to jump into the water, until I felt how cold it was.  Which just proves my theory, kids can’t feel cold water!

Did everyone have a good long weekend and get heaps of photos?

Very nice Jamie, great colours and dynamic. I think I would prefer the horizon a bit lower around the thirds, and crop a bit of the bottom. Actually you got a water proof casing don’t you so jump in the water and get the action 🙂

Nice, buddy. Would like to see some more of that sky, though. You’ve got the whole RGB thing going through this photo, red sky, green rock pool, blue water; sweet.

      Hi Beau,

Thanks for that mate. As for capturing more of the sky, there is only so much a wide angle lens can capture! 😉 I wanted it to look like we are standing right on the edge of the rock pool and the poor old 16-35 can capture any more than what I’ve done using this composition. I did however take some vertical shots as well so more of the sky will be revealed.

Thanks for the positive feedback. It helps.

      Jamie

    No long weekend out here!
This shot is my favourite of your recent seascape images. It has a strong comp, lots of detail and has a good range of tones.
Good to hear everyone had enjoyable long weekends back home

      Hi Luke,

Thanks for that mate. Funnily enough I had ‘seen’ this photo before I even stepped into the car. Its amazing what previsualisation can do for you.

Awesome sky, and the sharp textures around the pool are exceptional.
