LXIX To Hobart Town

ross bridge, tasmania, australian landscape photography, australian seascape photography

Welcome to Hobart Town!   Actually this bridge in in Ross, Tasmania.  What drew me to this was that firstly it was convict built from sandstone and finished in 1836, but secondly that this sign says ‘Hobart Town’ and is still using miles and roman numerals.   I managed to capture this photo on my way back to the Hobart airport, I wasn’t intending on stopping but when I saw this I just had to get a photo of it.

It was 100% convict built and has heaps of decorations all over it including portraits of local politicians and even of the convict artists themselves.   That its still standing and being used today is a testament to their amazing building skills.   I can’t wait to get back there soon and go crazy with the camera.

Any one else doing some cool trips before the year is out?
