Hanalei Bay

hawaii, landscape photography, seascape photography, hawaiian photos

I absolutely loved Hanalei Bay when I was staying in Kauai.  It just had an amazing village feel to it and everyone really was so relaxed.   Surfers would drive on to this beach and turn right and drive for 200M and then hop out of their cars and hit a really amazing wave about 250M offshore.

Families would have their huge pickup trucks on the beach with loud reggae music blasting out from their speakers and the Dads would have the BBQs all fired up.   The evenings were just magical in this bay.  The Hawaiians couldn’t believe I was walking around in shorts on a cold 24 degree day!   They were wearing jeans to keep themselves warm.

I hope you guys enjoy this photo.

Thanks,

Jamie Paterson

Mate, you’ll be happy to know that the shrine they erected to commemorate the event is still there. 😉
