Goodbye mate. I miss you already. You were the best friend I ever had and you never left my side. I love you so much and I wish you didn’t have to go, but when I saw you tonight I knew it was time.
Yeah mate. I’m pretty distraught but I’m going through our photos of him now and smiling. He was a pure bred Border Collie as well. I’m glad he went now while I was here and not in Tassie. I’ve got 10 days of nothing but shooting coming up so that will be good therapy. Reminds you that life is so precious.
Mate, words mean little at a time like this but I know where you are at. I spend a very large percentage of my time out bush…my only company is my dog. They are so, so much more than just a pet.
Hey Jamie,
Hard times when ya best mate has to leave us. Lovely image, full of personality, Pink bed, tom Putt will love it !
I posted an image tonight with reference to your great images from Nrth Cott. Check it out, it may just remind you what is out there and that we all move on and like life, the ocean never stands still. Adrian
sad stuff mate, at least you have some pics.
good to hear you’re taking the possitives as much as possible, and what better way to get down with your thoughts and memories then 10 days shooting. he’ll be out there beside you every time now no matter where you are! 🙂
Wow. Thank you so much. Your message almost brought tears to my eyes, but it certainly brought a smile to my face and deeply touched me. What a wonderful thought that he will be beside me when I shoot, I’m going to feel him by my side up in the mountains in Tassie.
I’m sorry to hear about your mate Jamie. It sounds like he did his job perfectly – made himself an integral part of your life. He would have seen that you were HIS best mate and you never left HIS side and so it sounds like you did your job perfectly as well, looking out for him and making the right (though difficult) decisions, just as he would look out for you.
Enjoy and cherish the memories as they come over the rest of your life.
Thanks mate. I must admit I’m in much better frame of mind tonight. I’ve been looking through his photos and just laughing at how much of a boofhead he was.
My sincere condolences to you mate… I really know how you feel and I am dreading the day when I have to put mine down too which is not long (he is nearly blind and deaf).
People have said that the best therapy is to get a new puppy.
