Hi Everyone,
This morning I headed out to Trigg Beach to get some more surf photos, however this time rather than focusing on the surfers themselves I was more interested in some experiments with capturing the surf. Perth isn’t known for its great surf but for this one I got down low to make the surf appear larger than it was and I was pretty happy with the result. I also got the privilege of meeting Charlene from November Images thanks for coming along Charlene I’m guessing its not the last time you’ll head down to the beach and shoot surfers now. I did notice though she was taking lots of close ups of the guys instead of the waves though!
I managed to catch up with Neal from Spool Photography last night at Hillary’s Boat Harbour and we watched an awesome sunset unfold before us.
Did anyone else capture the sunset last night?
Thank You for stopping by,
Jamie Paterson

Thats not bad Jamie, sort of grows on you. Great light here tonight , I call it Fletcher light , everything is orange. Not getting out as I ‘ve just finished painting and I ‘ve cracked a beer and just watching the changing color.
very very very very cool shot mate!!!
I was documenting the….er, life of the sport! 😉
Thanks for letting me tag along Jamie. I can totally see doing this on a regular basis. I felt totally great coming back home this morning. Must be this magic of the beach that people keep telling me about.

Hi Merv,
Thanks for that. Its the first time I’ve experimented with this, hopefully it will get easy.
Hi Clint,
Thank you very much kind sir!
Hi Charlene,
The pleasure was all mine. Always good to have company. I love being down at the beach first thing in the morning, watching the waves crashing and seeing the world wake up is awesome.
Hi Stephen,
How many times have we all been in that position?
Thanks everyone for commenting. I really appreciate it.

Ripper shot Jamie. The choice of shutter speed works really well with this type of scene. Good to see some surf.
Really nice, JP. It’s interesting to see something different to the normal “frozen” waves that everybody seems to shoot.
Hi Luke,
Thanks for that. I wass actually really disappointed as the surf was really small. Can’t wait to have a go with decent surf 3ft plus. How is the trip?
Hi Beau,
Keep up you’re photos on facebook. Most entertaining!

Yeah, the trips going well Jamie, haven’t been out shooting quiet yet. Hope to soon. Just been snowboarding and scoping out the area.
Haha, thanks Jamie. I should have a bunch going up soon from this past weekend. Just waiting for my friend to send me the pics 🙂
BTW, I can’t notice a bend in the horizon…
To me for some reason the horizon just looks a little bent… maybe im a little bent! 😉
Hi Dylan,
Its definitely not bent. I’ve even held a ruler to the screen to make sure LOL. I’m not looking at it any more otherwise I’ll go cross eyed!!! 😉

haha k its me then!
You know you can just add a ruler into photoshop…? command R (or control R for PS users) (I think thats it anyway!)
