Hi Everyone,
This is a shot I managed to nab with Mr Phil Back last week while trying to get a shot of the Coogee Beach jetty. Its an extremely popular jetty as its quite high off the water and on a hot day it would be rare not to see a stack of kids jumping off the jetty pylons to get a thrill and to be cooled down by the water.
On this particular evening though there was no one jumping as the wind was howling through and seriously cold. The thing I like about this photo the most, is that if you look closely you can see a guy right at the end of the jetty with his feet in the water while he is fishing. I didn’t see him catch anything but it sure did look like fun!
Should I warn him about the White Pointers in the area? They might think his toes are bait.
Thanks,
Jamie Paterson

Hey Jamie…nice image mate. Those high dynamic range stitches are tough eh!
HI Mark,
Thanks mate. 🙂 I’ve been blending seperate photos in Photoshop rather than straight HDR. Not sure if its playing with semantics or not but I’ve been doing this for six months now and you are right it is extremely hard work but the results are worth it.
Can’t wait to see more photos from the trip.
Coogee is awesome and windy cold days are best – no tourists!! But what the hell? White pointers? Never jumping off there again, the waters so clear they could see me from a mile away!
I love this shot, with the jetty pointing right at the sunset – gorgeous!
Hi Shannon and welcome!
I’m sure you can keep jumping off the jetty and still be safe, I was only joking. 🙂
