Bennion Beach Blaze

perth beaches, australian landscape photography, australian photographer, sunset

Wow, oh Wow!!!!   I came so close to not heading out tonight as I really didn’t think the sunset was going to be any good.  How wrong was I?  I decided to head out anyway to Bennion Beach, its a familiar spot and I feel grounded there.

I was trying out a few new in camera techniques, playing around when I saw the sunset start to really fire up.   Well off to work I went and I was blown away at just how intense, insane and amazing the sunset was.

So glad I went out tonight!

Thanks,

Jamie

Cottesloe Beach Colours

cott, north cott, australian photographer, seascape photography, australian landscape photography

Ummm what more can I say?  This had to be the best sunset of the year and for once I was there.  I was there and I was fully loaded ready to capture what ever unfolded.

To have this mind blowing sunset unfold before me was the most amazing bonus.  I couldn’t be happier. :-)

The sunset was so intense that I had to desaaturize a lot of the reds in this photo.

Hope you guys enjoy it.

Cottesloe Beach Clouds

cott, north cottesloe, australian landscape photography, seascape photography

What more can I say?  I just love shooting Cottesloe Beach.  Probably because I spent a lot of my youth there and there is probably some truth to the rumour that I may have undertaken one maybe two Sunday sessions at the nearby hotels. :-)

What really struck me about Cottesloe on this particular day was the different levels and colours of clouds.  It was like Pro Heart had just loaded up a paint gun and splatted the sky with white. !

Hope you guys all enjoy it.  :-)

Thanks,

Jamie

WA Photography Bloggers 2011 Get Together

Hi Everyone.  Leigh Di Prose is organising a photography get together.

Cable Beach Reflections

cable beach, broome photos, sunset,

Funnily enough this would have to be one of my most favourite photos of the year so far.  Why?

Well because even though its not an intense sunset I can really relate to it because of the two ladies standing there staring out at the sunset.   I see in them the feelings that I would feel if I was standing there right now.   I was going to remove me them, but because they are there its easier to relive the feelings of an amazing Broome sunset.

Seeing them there invokes within me the feelings of contentment, amazement and joy.  Would you have left them in the photo as well?

I hope you guys enjoy the photo.   I’d love to hear your comments on it.

Thanks,

Jamie

Hanalei Bay

hawaii, landscape photography, seascape photography, hawaiian photos

I absolutely loved Hanalei Bay when I was staying in Kauai.  It just had an amazing village feel to it and everyone really was so relaxed.   Surfers would drive on to this beach and turn right and drive for 200M and then hop out of their cars and hit a really amazing wave about 250M offshore.

Families would have their huge pickup trucks on the beach with loud reggae music blasting out from their speakers and the Dads would have the BBQs all fired up.   The evenings were just magical in this bay.  The Hawaiians couldn’t believe I was walking around in shorts on a cold 24 degree day!   They were wearing jeans to keep themselves warm.

I hope you guys enjoy this photo.

Thanks,

Happier Times

landscape photography, australian landscape photography,

Whilst on our travels down south True North Mark and I came across this pretty cool old house.   Of course we hopped out straight away and headed over to it and started to capture as best we could.   I was actually really inspired by this old house.

I always wonder why people left houses like this as they were.  We they desperate and had no other choice?  Who knows?

Thanks,

Ocean Beach Denmark

landscape photography, seascape photography, denmark, ocean beach,

This weekend True North Mark and I headed out on the road to travel down to the Great Southern region.  I think we managed to cover 1000kms in less than 48hrs and it certainly felt like we covered half the state.  We left Perth on Thursday night and arrived at the Stirling Ranges very late that night but there was no time for sleeping as we headed straight up to Bluff Knoll.

As luck would have it (insert sigh of disappointment here) we arrived on one of the very few days with no clouds in sight.   We pinged off a few shots and headed down to our toasty cabin for the night.

After Mark’s really loud alarm almost sent me through the roof we got up and headed back out to Bluff Knoll and managed to get a few pretty cool shots.

We then headed down to the Porongurp’s but managed to miss them and ended up heading across to Denmark, Walpole, Manjimup, Nannup and ended up in Dunsborough early Friday evening.   We had dinner with Christian and Mark and then next morning headed out with them to check out a new location near Smiths Beach and we were rewarded with a sensational sunrise.

After that Mark and I hit Smiths Beach for a few more shots before heading home.

The highlight for me was definitely Ocean Beach in Denmark, we got there just as the water was showing off its amazing colours.   What a really cool and fun trip!

Thanks,

Cancer Sucks

Cancer sucks no matter who is struck by it but its probably more heart wrenching when children are affected by it.  You can do something about it though and score a great piece of art at the same time.   Christian, Mark and I have each donated a photograph to this very special cause and hopefully it will be well attended.

Please even if you aren’t able to attend go to the website and donate.   If you do want to attend there are heaps of noteworthy artists who have donated art and you are bound to pick up a bargain.

Thanks,

Jamie Paterson
