I love Cable Beach in Broome. Awesome blue skies and beautiful green water sums it all up for me. On this particular day we decided not to go swimming as the lifeguards had spotted a 2M crocodile swimming up and down the beach and we thought it might not be too good for our health.
This shot was taken with the Canon 17mm TSE lens which seems to be able to create amazing skies out of almost nothing.
In this photo the tide was about halfway out and it certainly doesn’t take long for the tide to rise or fall up at Broome. It took a bit of getting used to the tides. The first two days I found spots I liked whilst the tide was rising thinking that I would have plenty of time to get a shot, when in actually fact I ended up at least 100M further back from where I expected to be!
I hope you guys like this shot. Let me know what you think of it.
Thanks,
Jamie Paterson

Nice Blues Jamie, I see you shot it with the 17 TSE, nice work mate!
Hi Ben,
Thank you. I must admit I’m seriously considering buying the 17mm TSE and ditching my 16-35mm.
Jamie
I tried the 17 TSE but the no filter thing was enough to kill it for me. The 24mm TSE 2 is a good option, stitching 3 frames together using shift gives around 17mm focal length and almost double the resolution.
Hi Ben,
I rarely if ever use filters anymore so the 17mm suited me just fine, but I think I will go out and hire the 24mm TSE and give it a run to see what its like as well. Thanks for letting me know your thoughts on the 24mm. I’ll let you know how I go.
Jamie
i want to jump in that water.. as long as the croc isnt around! incredible colours
Hey Chloe,
Don’t forget about the stingers and Irikinji jellyfish. If you like just lying around on a beach, this is the place for you.
Jamie
Hey Jamie nice mate. So much fits through that 17mm lens
I didnt know you had one. I has considering the 16-35 for sure for my trip to Europe but this has me thinking. So sharp !!
I’ll sell you my 16-35 mate. I hired the 17mm TSE to see what I thought of it. So I don’t have one…………. yet.
